The Start
“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.”
Since we started this journey a month ago, that top line is the sample text for most of the pages before we build it out. I never thought of it much until now. I had chalked it up to just some inspirational text a developer or marketer wrote to help get the creative juices flowing. Weirdly, it is so much more than that now.
It all began with an idea. We’re two brothers who care about a lot of different things in this world, but one thing that always brings us back is the love of the water. One of us is a little more day-to-day, the other when he can. But when we’re together, or with our friends, it’s like never missing a day. If you have friends you haven’t seen in months or years, and then you get together without skipping a beat, you know what I mean. Anyways, we were on the water and thought, why isn’t there something for the everyday water man?
“Maybe we should start a business?”
“Are you crazy?”
“Yeah?”
“Alright, I’m in.”
And just like that, our hobby turned into something more. Then it became something more. We’re not doing this to make a huge change in the world, just a change for the good of the No Coast that we grew up in and call home. Whether you’re in the big city or the middle of nowhere, we all belong here. Our mission built itself before our eyes and we knew what we had to do.
That’s a rambling way of saying, “Welcome to the No Coast, friend”. This blog will be a mixture of things, but primarily it will dive into the mission of No Coast Social Club: Save the Lakes, Restore the Rivers, Preserve the Ponds…whichever you prefer, we want to help them all. Keep an eye out for posts periodically from the Brothers, and some guest writers every once in a while. We’re here to spread the word about water quality, sedimentation, and healthy watersheds through education, first-hand experiences, and stories, all while sharing a beverage with the people who mean the most: Our Crew.
Until then, See You At the Cove!
